Soto del Real is preparing for its 2026 Patron Saint Festivities, taking place from July 30 to August 4 with an expanded and renewed program.

The 2026 Patron Saint Festivities in Soto del Real, scheduled from July 30 to August 4, promise an event filled with tradition, music, gastronomy, and activities for all ages. The organization has designed a program aimed at increasing the participation of local groups (peñas) and expanding daytime offerings, ensuring inclusive fun for residents and visitors.
Among this year's new features are daytime activities such as solidarity paella and appetizers, DJ sets, popular contests, water games, Aqualandia, and the traditional water battle and foam party. Younger attendees will enjoy traditional children's games and cucañas, while both adults and children can participate in the cucaña.
Music will be a key attraction, with concerts by artists like Soraya, Sofía Cristo, and the tribute band to Estopa, "Destrangis", alongside national orchestras and DJs. The 'peñas', considered drivers of the festive atmosphere, will play a central role with events like the parade accompanied by the Yelmo Bloko batucada, the presentation of the Lechera de Honor award, and the peñas' opening speech.
As a pioneering initiative, Sunday, August 2nd, will host the first Inclusive Day, featuring workshops, water activities, cooperative games, participation in the cucaña, solidarity paella, and family cinema, aiming to include individuals with specific sensory stimulation needs.
Solidarity activities continue, including bingo, a 'patatas revolconas' appetizer benefiting Cruz Roja (Red Cross), a solidarity paella with Cáritas Soto del Real, and the traditional solidarity 'patatada' with food collection. Some activities, such as the peñas' gymkhana and the potato omelet contest, will require free pre-registration.
Almudena Sánchez, Councilor for Culture, Events, and Festivities, highlighted the effort to create participatory festivities, with significant input from the peñas and an enhanced daytime program. She also emphasized the commitment to open, accessible celebrations where everyone can feel part of the event.
The complete schedule includes events from July 30th, starting with the peñas' preview, through August 4th, featuring concerts by Soraya and Sofía Cristo, and activities like Aqualandia and the foam party.
