The incident occurred around 11 AM on Grecia street, number 1, in the Madrid municipality. The driver exited the vehicle unaided but required medical attention for his injuries and was transported to 12 de Octubre Hospital.
As a result of the accident, train services on the C5 line were suspended between Leganés and Humanes stations. Community Firefighters removed the car from the tracks in a complex operation, while a Cercanías train remained stopped at the entrance to Fuenlabrada.
Passengers from the halted train were evacuated on foot. After nearly an hour and a half of disruption, services were restored with an average delay of 12 minutes. The local police have launched an investigation into the causes of the incident.
