The plan, formalized through a General Protocol of Action, establishes a roadmap for the development of strategic projects in fundamental areas such as education, health, housing, transport, and security. The initiative was signed by the regional president, Isabel Díaz Ayuso, and the mayor of Colmenar Viejo, Carlos Blázquez, with the aim of addressing the current and future needs of the locality.
In the educational sector, the construction of a new public school for Early Childhood, Primary, and Secondary Education in the Las Adelfillas neighborhood is planned, with a capacity for 840 students and an investment of 12.2 million euros. This will be complemented by a new Secondary Education institute next to the Héroes del 2 de Mayo public school, with a planned investment of 13 million euros, in addition to a subsidized educational center in the Cerca de la Tejera area.
Healthcare will also see improvements with the construction of a new health center, for which the City Council will cede a plot of land. The North and South health centers will receive over half a million euros for their adaptation. Furthermore, the Continuous Care Point for out-of-hospital emergencies will be maintained.
Regarding housing, the Plan VIVE includes an investment close to 100 million euros for the construction of 915 affordable rental homes. Of these, 282 have already been delivered, 191 are nearing completion, 110 are under construction, and 332 are in processing.
The agreement also covers the construction of a new municipal slaughterhouse with an investment of nearly 12 million euros, improvements to regional roads M-607, M-609, and M-618, a new fire station, and a District Office for Forest Agents. The Canal de Isabel II will invest 3.5 million euros in the modernization of hydraulic infrastructure.
Finally, funds will be allocated to the protection of the Cuenca Alta del Manzanares Regional Park, the maintenance of the Comprehensive Animal Shelter Center, and the construction of a senior citizens' residence with capacity for 150 people and a day center with 50 places, within the framework of the Community of Madrid's Plan 40-40.
