Travelers on the C-3 and C-4 lines of Cercanías Madrid should note that Sol station will be out of service during the weekend of September 5 and 6. These closures are due to improvement works that Adif will carry out in the Sol tunnel.
As a result of these works, provisional terminal stations will be established. Trains on the C-3 and part of the C-4 will originate and terminate at Atocha station, while trains on the C-4a and C-4b will start and end their routes at Nuevos Ministerios.
These works are part of a broader plan to improve the railway infrastructure in the Cercanías Madrid network, aiming to increase service reliability and efficiency. The interventions in the Sol tunnel, including the connection with the Embajadores tunnel, are intended to boost capacity and streamline traffic management at one of Spain's busiest railway stations.
Adif has concentrated these interventions during the summer period, when passenger numbers are lower, to minimize inconvenience. The company is informing passengers through various channels, including station staff, public address systems, signage, and social media.
Travelers with valid Cercanías tickets will be able to use the regular EMT bus services as an alternative mode of transport during the closure days.
