The Coslada City Council has launched its 2026/2027 Active Aging Program with exceptional reception, filling nearly all available spots in workshops designed for the municipality's seniors.

The high participation in activities organized by the Department of Social Services and Seniors reflects the interest of Coslada's elderly residents in staying active, continuing to learn, and enjoying spaces for meeting, coexistence, and participation.
The program, which began on October 1st, takes place in the five Municipal Senior Centers: Ciudad 70, José Luis Sampedro, Primavera, La Rambla, and La Cañada. Some activities are also held in municipal sports facilities.
A key novelty this edition includes new workshops such as French, Latin dance, and Breathe, Relax, and Sleep, focused on improving rest. The offering of strength training workshops has also been expanded due to growing interest.
These new offerings join a broad program that already includes activities like psychomotricity, yoga, Pilates, Zumba, dances, sevillanas, computer skills, languages, theater, art history, and creative writing, aiming to promote physical and emotional well-being and continuous learning.
Beyond workshops, the program encourages direct participation from seniors in revitalizing the municipal centers. Open Classrooms, promoted by volunteer seniors, have been expanded, and a Reading Club has been established.
The delegate councilor for Social Services and Seniors, Charo Arroyo, highlighted the "excellent welcome" and the seniors' eagerness to "participate, learn, and continue enjoying new experiences." She noted that the centers are "places for meeting, coexistence, and participation."
The program is complemented by cultural visits, special activities, digital training, initiatives to prevent unwanted loneliness, and various coexistence and participation programs, reinforcing the Coslada City Council's commitment to active and healthy aging.
