The Móstoles City Council will illuminate its facade and the statue of Andrés Torrejón, located in Plaza del Pradillo, in blue this Sunday, October 25th, to mark International Postural Tachycardia Syndrome Day.

Through this initiative, the Council joins the awareness campaign by the Spanish Association of PoTS and Other Dysautonomias (AEPOD), which aims to raise public awareness and show support for individuals living with these conditions.
Postural Tachycardia Syndrome (PoTS) is a form of dysautonomia that affects the functioning of the autonomic nervous system, which regulates involuntary bodily functions such as heart rate, blood pressure, digestion, and body temperature.
Common symptoms include an excessive increase in heart rate upon standing, dizziness, fainting or near-fainting spells, fatigue, concentration difficulties, exercise intolerance, and alterations in body temperature regulation. These manifestations can significantly impact the quality of life for those suffering from the condition, hindering their daily, work, academic, and social activities.
The Spanish Association of PoTS and Other Dysautonomias (AEPOD), founded in 2021, works to promote knowledge and awareness about these diseases, offer support to affected individuals, and contribute to improving their quality of life.
