The Community of Madrid has opened the registration period for entrance exams to Artistic Education in its public centers, offering over 3,000 places for the 2026/27 academic year.

The regional government has launched an information campaign across various media to attract young talents and promote the wide educational offer in disciplines such as music, dance, dramatic arts, cultural heritage conservation, and design.
Currently, the Community of Madrid boasts 25 public centers dedicated to these subjects, including 11 professional music conservatories, three dance conservatories, five art schools, and six higher artistic education centers. Over 10,500 students are currently pursuing these studies at various educational levels.
Elementary Music and Dance Education, aimed at students from 8 years old, requires registration between April 9 and 30. Music aspirants must pass an aptitude test assessing their auditory and vocal abilities, while dance candidates need to demonstrate physical condition, expressiveness, and musicality. These four-year studies award a specific degree from the Community of Madrid.
For Professional Music and Dance Education, which spans six years and grants a nationally recognized degree, the registration deadline is also April 30. Access is granted through a specific entrance exam.
Higher Artistic Education, equivalent to a University Degree, has an application period for entrance exams from April 13 to 30. To qualify, applicants must hold an academic degree (Bachiller, university, or Higher Technician) or have passed the university entrance exam for those over 25 years old, in addition to passing a specific exam for each of the five specialties: Music, Dramatic Arts, Dance, Conservation and Restoration of Cultural Heritage, and Design.
Finally, registration for Professional Plastic Arts and Design Education will open from June 15 to 26. Access can be achieved through various pathways depending on whether the applicant meets academic requirements, passes an entrance exam, or can demonstrate work experience in any of the 34 training cycles offered in the region.
