Formula 1 returns to Madrid after nearly half a century, an event expected to draw thousands of visitors and raise concerns about mobility within the Community of Madrid. To manage the anticipated influx, the Madrid City Council has designed a special plan including enhanced public transport and the provision of 11,000 parking spaces.
While transport lines directly serving Móstoles will not be reinforced, residents of the town will be affected when traveling to the capital. Between September 10th and 14th, Metro line 8 will increase its capacity by 50%. Line 4 will receive two additional trains during peak hours, and Line 5 will have an extra train during the same period, aiming to improve hourly capacity.
Cercanías Madrid will also see reinforcements, particularly for trains heading to Chamartín, with frequencies of every 5-7 minutes during peak hours and every 15 minutes otherwise. EMT buses may have their routes diverted, and five free shuttle services will operate between September 11th and 13th (lines MR3, MR2, MR1, MR4, and MR5). Additionally, the M-11 and M-40 highways could face temporary closures due to significant vehicle traffic.
