The recent Madrid Marathon, which broke participation records, concluded with 244 individuals attended by SAMUR, including one serious case of heatstroke requiring hospitalization.

The medical team deployed for the Madrid Marathon attended to a total of 244 participants, as reported by Emergencias Madrid. Most interventions were related to heat-induced conditions, a common factor in such endurance events.
Among the recorded cases, one was classified as serious: a runner suffered from heatstroke. SAMUR professionals managed to stabilize the individual on-site before transferring them to a hospital for specialized care.
To ensure medical coverage throughout the event, a team of approximately 200 SAMUR healthcare professionals was mobilized. This staff was strategically distributed along the entire route, with three advanced medical posts located in Recoletos, Colón, and Casa de Campo.
The 48th edition of the Zurich Rock and Roll Running Series Madrid set a new participation record, bringing together 47,000 runners. This number included over 10,000 international athletes from more than 100 countries, highlighting the global nature of the competition. Additionally, participants from other regions of Spain accounted for more than a quarter of the total registrants.
