During a meeting with activists in Fuenlabrada, García stated that the Community of Madrid currently acts as a barrier to the advancement of policies that, in her view, are being promoted by the Spanish Government. She emphasized that a change in the region would allow for the progress of the best national policies.
“"If we change the piece of Madrid, we change the brake on the best policies that are making our country advance."
The leader criticized the region for becoming an “epicenter of inequality” and a “hideout for the worst Trumpist policies.” She also questioned the model advocated by the regional president, whom she accuses of wanting to make Madrid resemble the United States.
García linked these statements to her decision to run as Más Madrid's candidate in 2027, aiming to “change Madrid” and thereby contribute to the country's transformation. However, she affirmed that she will continue to lead the Ministry of Health until her work is completed.
In this regard, she highlighted her department's management, noting that in just over two years, more initiatives have been brought to the Council of Ministers than during the entire previous Government's term.
She also indicated that her competition is not with the PSOE or its potential candidate, but with the regional president. She stressed that her party is clear that their main opponent is the current leader of the Community of Madrid.
