The spokesperson for Vox in the Madrid Assembly, Isabel Pérez Moñino, expressed little concern about the candidacy, labeling the leader of Más Madrid as a “failed” politician. From Puente de Vallecas, Moñino linked this political move to the candidate's management of the Ministry of Health, highlighting the conflict with the medical community.
“"The truth is, I'm not very concerned."
In this context, Moñino referred to the healthcare strike, now in its third week, demanding its own Framework Statute. She insisted that the minister leaves behind “a failure of all her policies.”
Similarly, the Minister of Culture, Tourism and Sport of the Community of Madrid, Mariano de Paco Serrano, intensified the criticism and called for the candidate's resignation. He deemed her ministerial management “absolutely catastrophic” and considered her focus on a future candidacy inappropriate given her current responsibilities.
“"If it weren't so serious, it would be laughable."
The minister also reproached the candidate for failing to achieve consensus in the healthcare sector, despite her medical background, and stated that the Framework Statute has generated rejection within the sector. He urged the candidate to “stop having more whims” and focus on management or resign from her position.
In contrast to these criticisms, the candidacy has received clear support from Sumar. The Second Vice President of the Government, Yolanda Díaz, publicly expressed her backing, asserting that the leader of Más Madrid will be able to defeat the current regional president, Isabel Díaz Ayuso.
“"Mónica García will send Ayuso to the opposition."
The party also emphasized that they do not foresee a better alternative to contest the regional Government and offered their collaboration with Más Madrid to bring about political change in the region. These reactions reflect an early political confrontation ahead of the 2027 elections.
