The National Police arrested a man and a woman on March 30 at Adolfo Suárez Madrid-Barajas Airport, after discovering 66 items of clothing impregnated with nearly 45 kilos of cocaine in their luggage.

The arrests occurred during a routine baggage check conducted by the Narcotics Operational Group at the Madrid airport. The two passengers were arriving on an international flight when their suitcases were selected for inspection.
Upon opening the three suitcases, officers immediately noticed a significant anomaly: the 66 clothing items had an unusually rigid texture and emitted a strong chemical odor. These characteristics raised the suspicions of the police officers.
A field narcotest confirmed that the clothing was impregnated with cocaine, leading to the arrest of both individuals. They have been charged with an alleged crime against public health and handed over to judicial authorities for further proceedings.
