The ordinary session of the Plenary of Paracuellos de Jarama has addressed a series of agreements that directly impact the lives of residents. Key points include modifications to the rules for using sports centers, the extension of the deadline for the Arts Center works, the appointment of a new justice of the peace, and the creation of an additional position in the Local Police.
One of the most relevant issues for citizens' daily lives was the initial approval of the modification of the General Regulation for the Use of Municipal Sports Facilities. The measure passed with broad support: 18 votes in favor from the Partido Popular, VOX, Somos Más Madrid Paracuellos, ICxP, and PSOE groups, none against, and 3 abstentions from the Contigo group.

This decision shows the commitment of the government team to promoting sports, to meet citizen demand with quality physical activity."
The regulation in force until now needed an update to adapt to both the current reality of the facilities and the needs of those who use them daily. Once the public information period for this type of modification concludes, residents will be able to learn more about the specific changes that will affect the use of swimming pools, pavilions, and other municipal facilities.
In the same session, the plenary unanimously proceeded to appoint a new titular justice of the peace for the Paracuellos de Jarama City Council. The unanimous support of all municipal groups for this designation reflects the consensus reached around the individual to assume this judicial proximity role in the municipality.
The plenary also approved the initial modification of the municipal staff roster for 2026, which includes two specific movements: the creation of a new local police position and the amortization of another subordinate position. This readjustment seeks to strengthen citizen security services, a recurring demand in a municipality that has grown steadily in recent years.
Additionally, a modification was approved in the city council's job list to establish free designation as the method for filling leadership positions in the New Technologies and Contracting services. This system allows the government team to directly appoint the heads of these strategic areas, which is common in local administrations for technical trust positions.
On another note, the Arts Center on Paseo del Radar will see its construction period extended by four months, until September 22, 2026, at the request of the construction company. This extension means residents will have to wait longer to enjoy this cultural facility.
Finally, the Plenary debated and approved a motion, presented by the municipal group ICxP and transacted with VOX, urging the Community of Madrid to consider the location of Paracuellos de Jarama for future Formula 1 Grand Prix events, given its proximity to the historic Jarama Circuit. A proposal from the Partido Popular was also approved, urging the Government of Spain to withdraw the Royal Decree on the regularization of immigrants, citing a collapse in municipal social services.
