The municipality of Valdemoro is preparing to celebrate its traditional festivities in honor of the Santísimo Cristo de la Salud from May 8 to 11, with a program combining cultural, bullfighting, and musical activities for all audiences.

The festivities will kick off with a proclamation by a child actor in the Plaza de la Constitución, followed by the traditional 'chupinazo'. The inaugural day will feature parades, a performance by the Orquesta Venecia, and concerts at the municipal sports center.
On Saturday, May 9, the program will include an open pilates class in Enrique Tierno Galván Park, the VI Lace-Making Meeting, and the first of two planned bull runs, which return after years of absence. These will cover the route between the hermitage of the Cristo de la Salud and the bullring. There will also be children's activities, a Holi festival, and a graffiti demonstration.
Music will take center stage on Saturday night with the Orquesta Maxims in the Plaza de la Constitución and concerts by Vórtice Cero, Modestia Aparte, and Seguridad Social at the municipal sports center's football fields. Midnight will be marked by a fireworks display.
On Sunday, May 10, there will be a children's bull run and a main mass at the church of Nuestra Señora de la Asunción. In the afternoon, the solemn procession of the patron saint will return to its headquarters. The day will continue with musical activities, including a tribute to K-Pop warriors, a performance by the Orquesta Jelmi, and DJ sessions.
The festivities will conclude on Monday, May 11, with churros and chocolate, the second planned bull run, a concert by the Civil Guard Music Unit at the Juan Prado Municipal Theater, and a meal for seniors. The Gran Prix for 'peñas' in the bullring and a performance by the group Siempre Así in the Plaza de la Constitución will bring the celebrations to a close, followed by a final firecracker display.
To ensure safety, a special security operation will be activated with over 120 officers from the Local Police and Civil Guard, supported by Civil Protection, the Comprehensive Emergency Service, members of the GRS, PRECO, and the canine unit. Drones will be used to monitor crowds, and controls will be carried out at the Cercanías train station to prevent dangerous objects from entering.
The Valdemoro City Council, through the Equality Area, will relaunch the campaign «Valdemoro against sexual violence in leisure spaces» to prevent assaults and chemical submission. Bars will collaborate by displaying QR codes to disseminate information and promote safe nightlife.
