The initiative, promoted by the local group Podemos Getafe, aims to highlight the feminist and social perspective of this process, which directly impacts the lives of hundreds of women performing essential jobs under precarious conditions.
According to information provided by the party, the meeting will emphasize how regularization can be a crucial instrument for optimizing the working and living conditions of those trapped in the informal economy or in vulnerable situations. The text underscores that many migrant women face "precariousness, invisibility, and violation of rights" more intensely than other groups, especially in the care sector.
“"There is no feminism without migrant justice."
The event will feature the participation of La Comala, a cooperative formed by migrant women operating under the principles of feminist social economy. Their work integrates training, research, and the development of labor alternatives that prioritize care and dignity. The organization explains that its objective is to generate dignified employment opportunities and strengthen community processes that recognize the value of work performed by women in contexts of inequality.
Alba Leo, spokesperson for La Comala, emphasizes that regularization should be viewed not only as an administrative procedure but as a fundamental mechanism of social justice. She argues that guaranteeing rights and security is a matter of "democratic dignity" for those who live and work in the municipality.
In addition to the event, the organization reminds the public that its social shield office offers support with procedures such as health cards, the Minimum Living Income, and the regularization process itself. This service is available every Wednesday from 6:30 PM at La Morada.
