The Community of Madrid faces a critical situation with its blood reserves. The regional Transfusion Center has declared an emergency level throughout the province due to the scarcity of several blood types, urging the public to donate urgently.
Blood groups 0+, AB+, B-, as well as 0-, A-, and A+ are in an emergency state, requiring a significant increase in donations to reach optimal levels. Groups AB+ and B+ remain in regular condition.
“"Blood cannot be manufactured and is necessary to save lives in emergencies, for cancer treatments, and surgeries."
Donating blood is a vital act that helps patients in hospital emergencies, surgical interventions, and medical treatments. To donate, one must not be fasting, must not have consumed alcohol, must complete a health questionnaire, and undergo a brief medical examination. The donation process takes approximately 20 minutes.
The Móstoles University Hospital has donation points available from Monday to Sunday, 10:00 AM to 8:00 PM. Additionally, the Rey Juan Carlos Hospital offers services from Monday to Thursday, 9:00 AM to 8:00 PM, and Fridays from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM, excluding holidays.
