Getafe Mayor Sara Hernández has announced the formation of a working group with Live Nation to review municipal demands regarding safety and mobility at the Iberdrola Music venue, especially in anticipation of upcoming Shakira concerts.

This group, comprising the Getafe City Council and the event promoter, aims to conduct a “thorough review” of local demands. Getafe's presence in future meetings is assured through its Culture and Citizen Security delegations, seeking solutions to potential inconveniences caused by mass events.

"Live Nation has 'offered' to take Getafe's demands 'to all appropriate tables'."

Sara Hernández · Mayor of Getafe
The mayor has made the holding of future events at the Iberdrola Music venue conditional on the fulfillment of these requests and the adoption of “appropriate decisions” in the present. For weeks, Hernández has urged the Madrid City Council and the Community of Madrid to implement measures to reduce noise levels and optimize mobility, to prevent overcrowding in Getafe Norte during Shakira's eleven concerts, which are expected to draw half a million attendees.
According to Sara Hernández, a positive aspect of the meeting was Live Nation's willingness to ensure that more events will only be organized if the venue meets adequate conditions. However, the mayor maintains that “the venue still does not have the adequate conditions,” which negatively impacts the quality of life for residents of Getafe Norte and Los Molinos.
Among the demands not addressed by the administrations, the mayor recalled the request to install acoustic screens on the M-45 to mitigate sound transmission. She also pointed out the lack of response regarding the creation of an elevated pedestrian crossing to prevent the closure of the M-45 and the establishment of a Metro station in the Marconi industrial estate, a “technically viable” solution to prevent attendees from wandering through neighborhoods late at night.
