Beach Handball: Pinto Hosts Preparation for Croatia World Championship

The senior men's and women's national teams held their pre-World Championship training camp in Pinto before heading to Zagreb.

The senior men's and women's beach handball national teams have completed their preparation for the World Championship in Pinto, Croatia, utilizing the facilities at the municipal sports center Príncipes de Asturias.

The senior men's and women's beach handball national teams selected Pinto as the location for their pre-World Championship training camp. The tournament is scheduled to take place in Zagreb, Croatia, from this Tuesday until next Sunday the 28th.
The national squads trained for the world event at the courts of the municipal sports center Príncipes de Asturias. During their stay, they were visited by the mayor of Pinto, Salomón Aguado, and the Councilor for Sports, Fernando González. Local authorities presented the teams with a gift from the City Council and received national team jerseys in return, wishing both teams good luck in the competition.
The women's team, known as the 'sand warriors', will compete in the initial phase against the Cook Islands, Puerto Rico, and Croatia. Madrid-based players Patri Encinas and Inoa Lucio, both from Getasur, are part of the team led by Juan Pablo Morillo, which aims to contend for medals.
Meanwhile, the 'sand Hispanics' will face Iran, the United States, and Portugal in their opening phase matches. The Spanish delegation includes Madrid representatives: goalkeeper Carlos Donderis (BM Leganés) and delegate Jorge Moreno (Getasur). The team, managed by Juan Antonio Vázquez, also aspires to perform well in Croatia.
Regarding the junior squads' call-ups, Sebastián Hernández has officially announced the list for the European Championship, which will be held in Croacia next July. Madrid goalkeeper Alejo Schulz (BM Sanse) will be part of the squad competing against Turkey, Ukraine, and France in the group stage. For the junior women's team, goalkeeper María Arnay (Getasur) has been selected. Similar to the senior national beach teams, the junior teams' preparation will also take place at the Pinto facilities starting this Thursday the 25th.
