The incident occurred around 6:25 PM at a property located on Río Llobregat Street. The fire broke out on the terrace of a fifth-floor apartment in a seven-story building and subsequently spread along the facade, affecting both the upper and lower floors.
Eight units from the Community of Madrid Fire Department arrived at the scene to prevent the flames from spreading into other apartments. During the operation, firefighters kept residents confined to their homes while they worked to clear the smoke accumulated in the building's stairwell.
Medical teams from SUMMA 112 treated the couple at the scene before transporting them to the hospital. Emergency crews successfully brought the situation under control, preventing further damage to the rest of the building's units.
