The Study Skills Workshop, an initiative by the San Martín de la Vega City Council, begins a new cycle aimed at students in the municipality. The main objective is to provide students with tools and strategies to approach their studies more effectively and autonomously, as well as the challenges presented by different educational stages.
The program is focused on students in 5th and 6th grade of Primary Education and 1st and 2nd grade of Compulsory Secondary Education (ESO). It aims for participants to acquire resources to improve their organization, planning, concentration, and content retention, reducing the stress associated with course changes or the transition from Primary to Secondary school.
Classes will be held at the Centro Cívico Cultural, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Students in 5th and 6th grade of Primary will start on Monday, October 5th, while those in 1st and 2nd grade of ESO will begin on Wednesday, October 7th.
A notable feature of the workshop will be the availability of 30 additional minutes of personalized attention at the end of each session. This time will allow students to ask specific questions, receive guidance, or delve into difficulties related to their study habits.
Before classes begin, an informational meeting for parents and guardians will be held on October 1st, at 6:00 PM, at the Centro Cívico Cultural. This meeting will detail the workshop's operation, objectives, and session organization, and will address any questions from families.
The enrollment period will be open until October 2nd at the Centro Cívico Cultural. Places are limited to ensure personalized attention and the proper development of the sessions.
The Department of Childhood and Youth emphasizes the importance of offering such resources, especially during stages with new academic demands. The workshop aims to support both students and their families, fostering autonomy and responsibility.
