The President of the Community of Madrid, Isabel Díaz Ayuso, has handed over the keys to 422 affordable rental homes under the Plan Vive in Pinto, with prices starting from 450 euros per month.

The regional president, Isabel Díaz Ayuso, presided over the key handover ceremony for a new development of 422 homes designated for affordable rental under the Plan Vive in Pinto. Ayuso emphasized that this initiative marks the beginning of "new life projects" for young people and families, facilitating access to the rental market with "quality homes at prices more affordable than the average".
During her speech, the president advocated for the continued construction of housing to meet the demographic growth of the Community of Madrid. "We must continue building and offering facilities to rent homes that match the demographic demand," she stated. She also promoted legal certainty, tax incentives, and property protection as key elements to boost the rental market, adding that the aim is to "give more freedom for this to continue growing and provide that fundamental balance".
With this latest allocation, the regional executive surpasses 5,785 homes within this public-private collaboration model, benefiting approximately 15,000 individuals. The development, located on Isaac Albéniz street in Pinto, comprises 221 one-bedroom apartments, 173 two-bedroom, and 28 three-bedroom units, along with 17 homes adapted for people with reduced mobility.
The rental prices for these homes range between 450 and 830 euros per month and include a parking space and storage room. The developments also feature common areas such as a swimming pool and gym, concierge services, and are notable for their energy efficiency and accessibility standards.
Díaz Ayuso highlighted that the Community of Madrid accounts for over 40% of all protected housing built in Spain since 2019, leading the country in this sector. In the current legislative term, the regional government is promoting more than 70,000 protected homes, with 14,000 belonging to the Plan Vive. The southern metropolitan area will be the primary beneficiary, with over 4,500 properties planned.
Currently, there are 5,939 homes under construction in 26 municipalities across Madrid and over 2,000 pending tender. The Pinto development involved a private investment of nearly 38 million euros on public land provided by the Community.
The regional government is also promoting the future Law on urgent measures for protected housing, currently being processed in the Assembly of Madrid, which aims to develop over 18,000 new homes in the next four years. Specific programs for young people are also being implemented, including the Plan Vive Solución Joven (5,500 homes for under-35s) and Mi Primera Vivienda, recently extended to include new construction and beneficiaries up to 50 years old.
In the long term, the Community of Madrid is working on the development of 280,000 homes over the next 15 years through new urban planning areas such as Valdecarros, Los Berrocales, Los Ahijones, Los Cerros, El Cañaveral, Madrid Nuevo Norte, and the Operación Campamento.
Of the more than 5,700 homes delivered to date, 2,116 are located in municipalities in the southern region, including Alcorcón, Getafe, and Móstoles. These are now joined by the new homes in Pinto and other developments currently underway in towns such as Navalcarnero, Humanes de Madrid, Torrejón de la Calzada, and Aranjuez.
