The Local Government Board of Alcalá de Henares has approved the tender for works aimed at the reintegration, conservation, and enhancement of the Borgoñón Mill and its industrial elements on the Isla del Colegio.

The Department of Historical Heritage has promoted the tender for a project that includes the completion of stabilization and consolidation work on the Borgoñón Mill, as well as comprehensive action on the Miller's House.
The planned works involve the restoration of roofs, floors, and the industrial machinery found inside the mill. The estimated investment exceeds 400,000 euros, with the goal of restoring this important heritage asset as soon as possible.
The Borgoñón Mill, also known as the Colegio Mill, dates back to the 15th century. It was acquired by Cardinal Cisneros in 1509 to supply the San Ildefonso Major College of the University. The building suffered a fire in the late 20th century, which severely damaged its roof.
