The Community of Madrid is improving nearly 18 kilometers of rural roads in Fuentidueña de Tajo and Brea de Tajo this summer, with an investment of 125,000 euros.

The works, part of the Pueblos con Vida program, aim to facilitate communication between towns and promote the economic and social development of the region's southeastern area.
The General Directorate for Territorial Rebalancing has allocated approximately 125,000 euros to these tasks, which are currently underway. In Fuentidueña de Tajo, seven roads totaling 8.4 kilometers are being addressed, while in Brea de Tajo, the work covers six roads spanning nearly 7.9 km.
Councilor Miguel Ángel García Martín emphasized the importance of maintaining these infrastructures to ensure resident mobility, facilitate access to agricultural and livestock farms, connect population centers, and improve safety.
The maintenance work includes resurfacing and profiling the road surface and ditches, clearing brush and pruning for visibility, and creating water crossings where needed.
Since the launch of the Pueblos con Vida program in 2023, the Community of Madrid has worked on nearly 200 kilometers of roads in 40 municipalities. The aid call for 2025 plans for work on 53 km across 14 rural towns.
