On May 23rd, El Berrueco became the stage for a dual event that merged the tradition of sheep shearing with a gathering of municipalities from the Atazar Reservoir consortium.

The day began early with the transfer of sheep from the fields to corrals located at the football field. There, two professional shearers undertook the task of machine shearing the sheep, a process explained in detail to an expectant audience who also had the opportunity to ask about the technique and its reasons, such as ensuring a cooler summer for the animals.
Concurrently, near the corrals, the Spinners of El Berrueco demonstrated traditional wool carding and spinning techniques, while seamstresses showcased the final stages of textile production.
Attendees also had the chance to taste and purchase Cheeses from Quesería San Mamés, presented by Javier Colmenarejo.
The afternoon concluded with the 13th Atazar Reservoir Consortium Gathering. Residents from Patones, El Atazar, Cervera de Buitrago, Robledillo, and Puentes Viejas (including its hamlets: Serrada, Mangaron, Paredes, and Cinco Villas) gathered in El Berrueco, participating in popular games for all ages, a communal meal, and enjoying a Jota dance exhibition by Semillas del Arte (El Berrueco) and La Candelaria (Patones). The musical performance was provided by the Rondalla de Valdemanco and friends.
