The incident occurred on August 19th, when officers from the National Police attempted to stop a vehicle in Villa de Vallecas. The occupants ignored the officers' instructions and began a high-speed pursuit that traversed key city routes including the A-3, M-50, M-31, M-45, and R-3.
The chase concluded at Terminal 4 of Adolfo Suárez-Madrid Barajas Airport, where the driver was intercepted upon exiting the vehicle. The other two occupants were located inside the car.
Inside the vehicle, a safe was discovered, showing signs of forced entry, along with tools, gloves, and a starter device. According to Police Headquarters, the safe had been stolen during a burglary committed that same night at a cafeteria in a Madrid locality. The car used in the escape had also been stolen days earlier.

The three detainees face charges including alleged robbery with force, theft or unauthorized use of a vehicle, offenses against road safety, and document forgery or damage. They have been handed over to judicial authorities as the investigation continues.
