San Lorenzo de El Escorial celebrates National Day with three days of events

San Lorenzo de El Escorial is preparing to celebrate National Day on October 12th with a program of activities spanning three days.

The commemorative events will begin on Saturday, October 10th, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM, with an Exhibition of Civil Guard Equipment. Attendees will have the opportunity to see vehicles and equipment used by the security force up close, in front of the barracks on Monte del Fraile street.
That same Saturday, at 6:30 PM, the Casa de Cultura will host a zarzuela recital by Alma Lírica, from the Admanum Cultural Association. Admission will be free until full capacity.
The program will continue on Sunday, October 11th, at 12:30 PM in the callejón del Repeso, with the Hispanic Day Concert, featuring the Agrupación J. Brillantes. A Spanish wine reception will be offered after the performance. In case of rain, the activity will be moved to the Casa de Cultura.
The program will culminate on Monday, October 12th, with the main National Day ceremonies in the Plaza de la Constitución. The day will begin at 11:00 AM with the Holy Mass and, starting at 12:00 PM, the institutional act will take place with the Flag Raising, the Force Review, and the presentation of decorations.
During the institutional act, the mayor of San Lorenzo, Carlota López Esteban, and the chief commander of the 1st Company of San Lorenzo, Vicente Calvo Candela, will speak. The event will also include the Homage to the Fallen and the Civil Guard Anthem.
