The Secretary of State for Education, Abelardo de la Rosa, has inaugurated the twenty-eighth edition of the Master's in International Social Action and Social Inclusion at the Getafe campus of the Carlos III University of Madrid.

Abelardo de la Rosa, Secretary of State for Education, inaugurated this Monday the twenty-eighth edition of the Master's in International Social Action and Social Inclusion. The event took place at the Getafe campus of the Carlos III University of Madrid, representing the Minister of Education, Vocational Training and Sports, Milagros Tolón.
The Rector of the Carlos III University of Madrid, Ángel Arias Hernández, and the postgraduate program director, Carlos Fernández Liesa, were also present. De la Rosa addressed the future professionals in cooperation, social inclusion, and humanitarian action, emphasizing the importance of their work in the face of challenges such as climate change, inequality, and forced migration.
The Secretary of State highlighted the students' dedication to this training, stating, "You have decided that the suffering of other people does matter to you." He recalled that the Government of Spain increased its development aid by 13% in 2025, reaching the highest figure in the last fifteen years, and that the Law on Cooperation for Sustainable Development and Global Solidarity establishes Spain's commitment to allocate 0.7% of its income to this area by 2030.
He also mentioned the Statute of Cooperating Persons, approved in July 2024, which enhances the rights, training, and protection of professionals in the field. De la Rosa emphasized that knowledge is a form of courage and that facing injustice directly generates the responsibility to act.
The ministry he leads focuses on public schools as places to learn to recognize the dignity of others and coexist with diversity. The LOMLOE introduced education for sustainable development and global citizenship, promoting empathy and inclusive training.
Finally, De la Rosa concluded that education is the best promise for the future and that for many children, returning to a classroom will be a way to regain hope. He urged students to maintain the commitment to solidarity they began today, which is essential in contemporary society. Vicerectors Evita Paraskevopoulou and Carmen Pérez González also attended the event.
