The Institute of Women will allocate five million euros in 2026 for grants to the feminist associative movement, representing a 170.3% increase since 2023.

The Institute of Women, an autonomous body attached to the Ministry of Equality, has announced it will allocate five million euros in 2026 to subsidies for the feminist associative movement. This amount represents a 170.3% increase since 2023.
The Minister of Equality, Ana Redondo, accompanied by the president of the Institute of Women, Cristina Hernández, visited several feminist associations located in spaces ceded by the Institute in Madrid. These premises, awarded through a competitive bidding process, are designated for offices and social headquarters of the entities.
During the meeting with beneficiary associations, the minister and the president heard firsthand about their demands and concerns. The cession of these premises is one of the Institute's support lines for the sustenance and strengthening of the feminist associative fabric.
The Institute of Women reaffirms its commitment to feminism as a force for social and democratic transformation, countering ultraconservative currents. This commitment is reflected in economic support and structural strengthening of feminist organizations, considered fundamental for defending and expanding achieved rights.
The subsidy call, aimed at providing stability to the state-level feminist associative fabric, will have five million euros in 2026, compared to two million in 2025, marking a 150% increase in a single year. These grants, ranging from 6,000 to 100,000 euros per entity, fund both the maintenance of headquarters and the ordinary activities of the organizations.
In 2025, 35 women's associations were awarded spaces owned by the Institute in Madrid for use as offices and social headquarters, through competitive bidding. With these measures, the Institute reinforces its economic and structural support for the feminist movement.
