The Institute for the Elderly and Social Services (Imserso) has delivered to the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE) Spain's Report on the implementation of the Madrid International Plan of Action on Aging and its Regional Strategy (MIPAA-RIS) for the period 2022-2026.

The report, coordinated by Imserso, has included contributions from 11 ministerial departments, a large part of the Autonomous Communities, the three Basque provincial councils, local entities, and for the first time, civil society, in line with the participatory approach of the United Nations.
The document is structured into three parts and five annexes, detailing the main actions carried out concerning older persons from different administrative levels, with an integrated, cross-sectoral approach.
Subsequently, the United Nations will prepare a summary of the national reports from the UN Economic Commission for Europe Region (56 countries) for the UNECE Ministerial Conference on Aging, to be held in October 2027 in Leipzig. This conference will review the regional progress in fulfilling the commitments made in the MIPAA and RIS, approved in 2002 at the II World Assembly on Aging (Madrid) and the I UNECE Ministerial Conference on Aging (Berlin).
