The Soto del Real City Council and the Professional College of Criminology of the Community of Madrid have signed an agreement to conduct a criminological audit of the Local Police, aiming to optimize their services and resources.

The agreement, signed on Monday, May 5, 2026, aims to analyze the daily performance of the municipality's Local Police, identify their operational needs, and understand the agents' perception of their work and operating conditions. The study will also assess the adequacy of available resources for fulfilling their security functions, considering future evolving needs.
To carry out this evaluation, a scientific methodology will be applied, including questionnaires for agents and interviews with police commanders. Additionally, a preliminary meeting will be held to understand the force's structure and gather necessary documentation. Coordination with the Guardia Civil, which has barracks in the locality, will also be analyzed.

"In security matters, we often act with immediacy, but we don't always conduct in-depth evaluations that allow us to make better decisions and plan for the future."

A spokesperson for the Professional College of Criminology of the Community of Madrid explained that, with all the information gathered, a report with conclusions and recommendations will be prepared, triangulating data provided by commanders and agents. The perception of the head of Security and municipal spokespersons will also be collected.
A sub-inspector of the Soto del Real Local Police highlighted the advanced technological level of the force, comprising 21 agents. He mentioned that they are fully digitized, have eliminated paper use, provide reports in PDF format to citizens, and are telematically connected to the SARA network and the General Directorate of Traffic. Soto del Real is one of 27 municipalities in the Community of Madrid with this connection. He also announced an agreement with Eucaris for European data exchange, which positions the municipality above average in services and resources.
Finally, the good coordination between the Local Police and the Guardia Civil was emphasized, evidenced by 12 follow-up meetings held in 2025 and joint operations such as access controls, public transport operations with K9 units, and search devices.
