The program, organized by the Department of Health along with various institutions such as the Community of Madrid, the Príncipe de Asturias University Hospital, local health centers, the University of Alcalá, and associations like the Red Cross and Alcalá Gastronómica, will take place in different city spaces. The central focus will be on promoting physical activity, healthy eating, prevention, and self-care.
The week will kick off on Friday, September 25, with healthy walks and physical exercise activities. The Plaza de Cervantes will host information booths on cardiovascular risk assessment, cardiopulmonary resuscitation, and first aid, in addition to the activities “Home Exercise Routines” and “Dancing with Heart”.
Saturday, September 26, will include a 13-kilometer walk between the Parque Ferial and the Puente Azul, organized by the Corazones Sanos del Henares Association. In the afternoon, the Parque de la Juventud will host the K-POP festival “Finger Heart”.
On Monday, September 28, activities will resume with Nordic walking, cardiopulmonary resuscitation training, workshops on medications and oral hygiene and their relation to heart health, and a round table titled “Alcalá Cares for Your Heart” at the Parador de Turismo.
On Tuesday, September 29, coinciding with World Heart Day, the focus will be on nutrition and prevention, with proposals such as “Smart Basket, Healthy Plate” and activities on cardiovascular health during menopause.
Finally, on Wednesday, September 30, various activities will be offered, including physical exercise, healthy walks, Nordic walking, and workshops on online health resources and stress management.
