The Collado Villalba City Council has informed residents about the upcoming closure of Rafael Alberti Street. This measure is due to the paving works being carried out on various roads in the municipality, taking advantage of the end of the winter season. The traffic interruption will affect the section between the roundabouts of Fuente de la Reina and Ruiz de Alarcón with Vial Sur.
The road closure will begin on April 10 and will last until the completion of the works, estimated for April 20, although this date could vary depending on weather conditions. To minimize inconvenience, detours have been established through adjacent streets, and public transport services have been reorganized.
The Security and Transport department has signposted alternative routes, including Calle Real, the Los Belgas and Los Madroños areas (from Vial Sur), as well as the Estación bridge and Ruiz de Alarcón Street. Bus stops will also undergo modifications, with some relocating to the Bus Station and others to specific points on Vial Sur and the Ruiz de Alarcón Street roundabout with Las Suertes.
The works, part of the Collado Villalba Paving Operation, involve a comprehensive replacement of the road surface and renewal of horizontal signage. This intervention aims to improve road safety and traffic flow in one of the most transited areas of the town. The total investment for this operation amounts to 2.7 million euros, financed with municipal funds, and began last December.
The Urban Planning and Environment Department of the Collado Villalba City Council has prioritized streets with higher traffic density and wear after a detailed study. More than 120,000 square meters will be acted upon, which will allow for a substantial improvement of the urban road network. The council has requested the understanding of residents for any inconvenience these works may cause, as their ultimate goal is to optimize mobility in the municipality.
