The Torrelodones City Council is facing a deep internal crisis after Vox blocked a 5 million euro budget modification intended for various urban improvements.

Tensions between the governing partners in Torrelodones have reached a new breaking point. The Vox party voted against a municipal investment proposal, arguing that its approval would diminish their influence within the local executive. This decision has stalled key projects for the municipality, including street paving, playground upgrades, and repairs to damaged infrastructure.
The Partido Popular, which holds the mayoralty, has described their partners' stance as a direct detriment to local residents. According to municipal government sources, the budget modification was essential to cover committed expenses, court rulings, and maintenance in areas far from the town center, actions that are now paralyzed.

Vox is not just being disloyal; they are governing against the residents. It is unacceptable.

The Mayor of Torrelodones, Almudena Negro, expressed regret over the situation during recent plenary sessions, which have been marked by constant interruptions and the expulsion of council members. The mayor noted that while work proceeds normally in government board meetings, public sessions are being used as a spectacle for social media.
Despite the de facto breakdown of the governing pact, the mayor's office confirmed it will not strip Vox councilors of their responsibilities, leaving the decision to stay or leave the executive up to the party. Disciplinary proceedings are currently underway regarding the disrespectful behavior recorded during the February and March plenary sessions.
