The proposal, presented by the municipal group Unión por Leganés (ULEG), received support from PP and ULEG, while PSOE, Más Madrid, and Podemos abstained. This initiative is part of the commemorative events for the 4th centenary of the Villa de Leganés and the Marquisate of Leganés.
During the plenary session, which addressed a total of eleven points, eight were approved and three were rejected. Among the rejected points was a motion from the PP demanding an extraordinary response from the Spanish Government regarding the events in Ceuta, defending Spain's sovereignty and territorial integrity. This motion was rejected with a favorable vote from PP, an abstention from ULEG, and opposing votes from PSOE, Más Madrid, and Podemos.
Other approved motions included one from the PSOE to prevent speculative use of industrial land and guarantee the right to decent and permanent housing, another concerning the shortage of doctors in the SUMMA 112 emergency services, and a proposal from Más Madrid Leganés to update sustainable mobility policies. A motion from Podemos-IU AV for a healthier and more environmentally friendly Leganés was also approved.
Two motions from the municipal group VOX were withdrawn: one on Spanish sovereignty and the invasion of Ceuta, and another for a feasibility study on rental housing for special needs groups, both due to the proponent's absence. A motion from Más Madrid Leganés regarding school bus routes was rejected.
