The festive day will begin at 10:00 AM with a parade of horsemen departing from the parking lot of Colegio San Gregorio. Their route will take them to the Plaza de la Constitución and, subsequently, to El Toril Park, where the oxen will join. It is estimated that around 11:00 AM, the oxen drive will begin its journey, offering a visual spectacle that highlights the importance of livestock farming in the region. This event is made possible by the collaboration of local equestrian centers.
The oxen drive's route will pass along Pedriza street, continue towards the Vista Nevada urbanization, and conclude approximately at 12:45 PM at the Ermita de El Cerrillo. At this location, at 1:00 PM, a Holy Mass will be celebrated, followed by a procession and the traditional blessing of fields and animals, keeping a deeply rooted custom alive in the town.
A journey full of tradition and devotion.
After the religious ceremonies, attendees can enjoy a popular meal featuring tripe until supplies run out. The celebration will be enlivened by a flamenco performance, ensuring a festive and family-friendly atmosphere for all present.
To conclude the day, an exciting ribbon race on horseback will take place in the meadow. This activity is supported by the Cofradía de Romeros de Nuestra Señora de los Desamparados, linked to the Parroquia de Nuestra Señora de la Asunción de Galapagar, thus closing a day full of tradition and entertainment.
