The Urban Planning and Environment department of the council has launched a comprehensive plan that includes reinforcing the cleaning service, waste collection, and park and garden maintenance. This operation will take place during the central days of the patron saint festivities.
During these festive days, the usual staff of 92 workers will be increased by 25%, adding 26 reinforcement personnel. Staff will be organized into morning (72 workers), afternoon (29 employees), and night (17 personnel) shifts, supported by various vehicles and machinery such as collection trucks, street washers, high-pressure cleaners, and sweepers.
A special service will be implemented for the distribution and collection of containers among fair vendors, groups, and hospitality establishments, especially in high-traffic areas. As a novelty, four electric leaf blowers are being introduced to reduce early morning noise. The Plaza de Los Belgas will once again feature a visual "enhancer" for container collection.
Priority action zones will include the fairgrounds, Plaza de Los Belgas, Carpa Joven, Plaza de la Estación, calle Real, Cordel de Valladolid, and the parks of Los Aromas, Ambulatorio, and Pinar de las Eras. Special attention will be paid to the frequency of collection and washing in these busy areas, as well as to the protection of green spaces.
