Alcobendas has successfully renewed the Infoparticipa Seal for the eighth consecutive year, a certification from the Autonomous University of Barcelona that assesses the transparency and public communication of municipal websites, placing it among the most transparent councils.

Alcobendas has managed to maintain the Infoparticipa Seal for the eighth consecutive year, a distinction that recognizes the quality and transparency of the information published on municipal websites. This achievement, awarded by the Autonomous University of Barcelona, positions the town among the municipalities with the highest compliance level regarding public data dissemination.
The 2025 Infoparticipa awards ceremony was held in Alcobendas, bringing together ten councils from the Community of Madrid that also received this recognition. The mayor, Rocío García Alcántara, emphasized that this award underscores a firm and consistent institutional commitment to the highest transparency standards.
In addition to renewing the seal, Alcobendas received the Extraordinary Award for Institutional Mentoring. This award recognizes the support and guidance that the municipality has provided to the Pinto City Council, helping it increase its transparency compliance rate from 61.54% to 96.3%.
García Alcántara noted that this distinction highlights the capacity for sharing knowledge and best practices among local administrations, with the ultimate goal of improving transparency in the public sector.
The Transparency Portal of the Alcobendas City Council has established itself as a key tool for facilitating citizen access to information. Among its latest additions is a Transparency Catalog, which systematically details the active publicity indicators required by law.
Furthermore, the council has launched a dedicated space for artificial intelligence, presenting the menInA project, a virtual assistant for the 010 municipal service designed to enhance citizen support throughout the day.
The Infoparticipa model, developed by the Autonomous University of Barcelona, evaluates the transparency of public administrations through 54 web indicators, analyzing the clarity, accessibility, and relevance of the information. Its objective is to ensure that citizens have sufficient data to oversee resource management, decision-making, and participation mechanisms.
In the 2025 edition, the Madrid municipalities awarded the Infoparticipa Seal are: Madrid, Alcalá de Henares, Torrejón de Ardoz, Pozuelo de Alarcón, Las Rozas, San Lorenzo del Escorial, Moralzarzal, Pinto, Galapagar, and Alcobendas.
During the event, experts and institutional representatives agreed on the importance of simplifying regulations, adopting technologies like artificial intelligence, and developing tools that facilitate access to public information.
