The Community of Madrid has experienced a slight rise in birth figures during the month of June, reaching 4,344 births. This figure represents a 0.19% increase compared to the same month last year, adding 62 more newborns. The regional figure is 0.9 points below the national average, according to statistics published by the National Statistics Institute (INE).
With these figures, births in the region during the first six months of 2026 amount to 25,751. Nationally, births grew by 1.07% in June, totaling 26,291, and accumulating 156,887 in the first half of the year.
Regarding the age of mothers in Madrid, the 30 to 34 years age group had the most births in June 2026, with 1,464. This is followed by the 35 to 39 years range, with a total of 1,446 births. Mothers aged 20 to 29 years accounted for 865 newborns, while women aged 40 to 49 years had 513 children.
The 15 to 19 years age group registered 50 births. Additionally, six mothers over 50 years old were recorded, and three births occurred in the youngest age group, under 15 years old.
