The Minister of Environment, Agriculture and Interior of the Community of Madrid, Carlos Novillo, inaugurated the second morning session of the III Madrid Investment Forum, held in Tres Cantos. During his speech, Novillo highlighted the role of technology in ensuring citizen safety and announced the modification of the Forest and Nature Protection Law.
This initiative, promoted by the regional government and announced by President Díaz Ayuso during the State of the Region Debate, aims to strengthen prevention and response to forest fires. The minister explained that "more than 50% of the region's territory is forest land" and that the regulatory modification "will work to ensure the norm adapts to the new environmental, economic, and social challenges we face."
The new regulations will enhance forest planning, contribute to fire prevention, and incorporate administrative simplification measures. The goal is to act more agilely in the natural environment, especially in situations requiring urgent intervention.
