The Mayor of Madrid, José Luis Martínez-Almeida, has inaugurated the sixth edition of Iberseries & Platino Industria, a key event for the Spanish and Portuguese audiovisual sector held at the Teatros del Canal until October 2nd.

The international event, promoted by EGEDA and Fundación Secuoya with the sponsorship of the City Council of Madrid and the Community of Madrid, brings together platforms, creatives, producers, and distributors. In its sixth edition, the meeting has established itself as a benchmark forum for knowledge exchange and the promotion of business and institutional synergies.
The event has experienced significant growth, reaching 2,800 accredited professionals at its start, 47% of whom are international. With over 1,500 registered companies and around 200 international buyers, the increasing presence of participants from countries such as Turkey, China, India, and Korea is noteworthy, expanding the event's reach to new markets.
Madrid Film Office, the main sponsor, supports the promotion of Madrid's audiovisual sector and the creation of networking spaces. The City Council considers it strategic to foster links between the Madrid and Ibero-American industries to stimulate collaboration, co-production, and position Madrid as a bridge between the Spanish and Latin American audiovisual sectors.
Through Madrid Film Office, the City Council of Madrid will have a prominent presence. The Showrunners Training Workshop will be held, the conference ‘The Madrid Effect: Creativity, Industry, and Global Financing’ will be moderated, and the 30 years of the Festival de Málaga will be presented, with Madrid as the guest territory in 2027.
On Wednesday, September 30th, 'Pitch Madrid' will take place, where nine development projects for series and feature films will be presented to the industry. Additionally, a working breakfast will be organized to showcase the opportunities Madrid offers as an industry and filming location. Attendees can learn about cultural and screen tourism experiences in the city at a space shared with the Community of Madrid and the Audiovisual Cluster of Madrid.
