The Minister of Presidency, Justice, and Local Administration, Miguel Ángel García Martín, announced that the Madrid regional government has urged the Government Delegate to issue the necessary instructions for the evacuation of the iconic square.
Should a favorable response not be received within the stipulated timeframe, the Community of Madrid has warned that it will file an administrative litigation appeal. This appeal will include a request for precautionary measures from the relevant judicial body, defending the general interest of Madrid's citizens.
“"Impunity, illegality, disorder cannot continue to run rampant in Puerta del Sol. We give the Government Delegate 48 hours to comply with this requirement, and if they do not, we will file the corresponding administrative litigation appeal."
The regional administration emphasizes that if the request is not met, all pertinent legal actions will be undertaken, including criminal proceedings against the Government Delegate if necessary.
