The Madrid City Council has initiated a citizen participation process to evaluate the implementation of the Regulated Parking Service (SER) in the Opañel neighborhood and its extension in San Isidro, responding to neighborhood requests.

This consultation, available on the Decide Madrid portal, will be open to interested residents until May 11. According to the City Council, this initiative arises from numerous requests processed by residents of the Carabanchel district through institutional channels.
The municipal project details the streets that would be integrated into the paid parking system. In the Opañel neighborhood, the regulation would affect 61 streets, covering the area between even numbers 2 to 92 of Antonio Leyva street (adjacent to Comillas) and numbers 1 to 53 of General Ricardos street, in the section between Salaberry street and the Marqués de Vadillo roundabout.
In the San Isidro neighborhood, the addition of 16 additional streets to the sector that already has parking meters is contemplated. The proposed perimeter is defined by the Ermita del Santo promenade, San Ambrosio street, Quince de Mayo street, the area around the Toledo bridge, and General Ricardos street.
To ensure that the decision reflects the will of those directly involved, the online voting system will only validate votes from citizens whose official registration strictly matches the addresses and numbering included in the plan. This consultation phase has been preceded by various informative sessions between the administration and neighborhood platforms in both areas.
The final step for the execution of these signage works and the launch of the service will be to obtain majority support in the Carabanchel Municipal Plenary, once the public hearing period has concluded.
