The Governing Council of the Community of Madrid has approved a significant budget increase for the System for Autonomy and Dependency Care. The allocation will be increased by 10.2 million euros, reaching a total of 428 million designated for financing economic benefits for individuals in situations of dependency.
As reported by the regional Executive, this measure aims to ensure the payment of already granted aid, cover pending obligations from ongoing applications, and address the growing demand for Individual Care Programs (PIA). It is estimated that over 98,000 citizens of Madrid will benefit from these economic aids.
The benefits are structured into three main modalities. The first supports care within the family environment, providing a monthly allowance for expenses associated with home care by a family caregiver. The second modality, the service-linked benefit, helps finance the cost of accredited private social services such as home help, residential care, or day centers. Finally, personal assistance aims to promote the independence of beneficiaries through the support of a personal assistant to improve their daily autonomy and life project development.
