Metro de Madrid's Line 5 experienced a complete service interruption this Sunday, April 12, between the Alameda de Osuna and Canillejas stations, affecting three stops and causing delays across the rest of the line.

The service suspension, which began around 13:20 hours, was attributed to «technical causes», according to a statement issued by Metro de Madrid. Although an initial resolution time of «more than 15 minutes» was estimated, the incident persisted an hour after it started.
The stations directly affected by this two-way closure are Alameda de Osuna, El Capricho, and Canillejas. Despite the interruption being localized to this segment, trains operating on the rest of Line 5 also experienced significant delays, impacting user mobility throughout Sunday afternoon.

This latest disruption was due to «technical causes» and the estimated resolution time for the incident is «more than 15 minutes».

Line 5 is one of the main arteries of the Madrid subway system, connecting the city from the southwest to the northeast, between Casa de Campo and Alameda de Osuna. With 32 stations and a route spanning 23.2 kilometers, it is notable for running at a greater depth than other lines, especially in the city center, to avoid overlaps and for safety reasons.
