The mayor, accompanied by the delegate councilor for Sports, Sonia Cea, congratulated the champions on what he described as “a historic season”. Martínez-Almeida expressed the “pride” and “excitement” of receiving the team, defining them as “the identity of the Club de Campo at this moment”, and highlighted the value of team sports, stating that “together we always go further”.
The Real Club de Campo Villa de Madrid has become the only club in history to achieve this double, and they have done so on two occasions. The first time was in the 2020-2021 season, and this year they have “made a norm of what was exceptional”, according to the mayor.
The women's team, coached by Pablo Usoz, completes a historic treble after also winning the Spanish Indoor Hockey Championship and the Queen's Cup. The men's team, coached by Eduardo Aguilar, adds this league title to their record, marking the fourth time they have won it in the last six years.
In addition to the team titles, several players received individual awards. For the men's team, Rafael Villalonga was named best player, Rafael Revilla best goalkeeper, and Enrique Zorita top scorer. In the women's team, Berta Agulló was recognized as the best player of the tournament, while María López and Florencia Amundson shared the top scorer award.
