This decline in marital dissolutions was observed across all categories, with non-consensual demands showing the most significant reduction. Non-consensual divorces, which reached 3,891 filings in 2025, decreased by 22.4% compared to the previous year. Meanwhile, consensual divorces, with 6,502 cases, saw a 6.7% drop.
Regarding marital separations, non-consensual cases (102) decreased by 10.5%, while consensual ones (273) fell by 11.4%. Annulments, though fewer in number, slightly increased from eight in 2024 to nine in 2025, representing a 12.5% rise.
Nationally, the rate of marital dissolution filings per 100,000 inhabitants stood at 171.9. The Community of Madrid was below this average, with a rate of 151 filings per 100,000 inhabitants, making it one of the regions with the lowest incidence of marital dissolutions in Spain.
The report also details procedures for modifying measures. Consensual demands for modifying measures increased by 6.9%, reaching 1,547 in 2025. In contrast, non-consensual demands decreased by 13.2%, totaling 3,726. Regarding custody, guardianship, and child support for non-marital children, consensual demands (2,542) decreased by 1.5%, and non-consensual ones (3,312) fell by 18.4%.
