This initiative is part of the European Artistic Craft Days, a celebration aimed at bringing the public closer to the value of artisan trades and asserting their importance within cultural and economic heritage. This is the third consecutive year that Leganés has joined this European proposal, reinforcing its commitment to the sector.
The exhibition, with free admission, is open to the public from 9:00 AM to 9:00 PM. The inauguration was attended by prominent figures such as the mayor of Leganés, Miguel Ángel Recuenco; the general director of Commerce of the Community of Madrid, Marta Nieto; and the councilor for Commerce and Local Development, José Eugenio Marín.
The third edition of this collective exhibition underscores the municipality's commitment to showcasing the work of its artisans. It reflects the diversity of techniques, materials, and styles present in contemporary craftsmanship, valuing the dedication and creativity of those who keep trades with a rich history alive.
“"The European Artistic Craft Days is a celebration shared by cities across Spain, aimed at highlighting the value of artisan trades, their history, and their relevance today."
Among the participants in this edition are Mayo, taller de Arte, with over 40 years of experience in sculpture and imagery; Militanza, specializing in military-inspired tailoring; and José J. Marín, ceramist and sculptor. Also exhibiting are Daniel Moreno, creator of functional pieces in natural wood under the concept 'nARTuraleza', and Sastrería Taurina Pedro Escolar, renowned for over 25 years for its tailoring of bullfighter costumes.
The City Council emphasizes that this initiative not only exhibits unique pieces but also strengthens institutional support for a sector that preserves traditions, generates employment, and enriches the cultural identity of the municipality. Councilor José Marín encouraged citizens to visit the exhibition, calling it an opportunity to get closer to the work of those who keep alive trades that are part of local culture and identity.
