The Alcorcón City Council has initiated the first edition of the Vibra 2026 Awards, an initiative designed to promote cultural and artistic expression among the municipality's young population.

These awards focus on urban art, encompassing disciplines such as urban music, graffiti, and hip hop. The call for entries is open to young individuals and groups aged between 14 and 25 who reside in Alcorcón, with the requirement that at least 50% of a group's members meet this criterion.
Finalists in each category will have the opportunity to participate in the ‘Alcorcón Vibra 2026’ event. At this gathering, the final decision on the winners will be determined by a combination of public voting and evaluation by a specialized jury. The prize for the winning group or soloist includes a cash award of 500 euros and the production of a professional music video.
In the urban music category, 10 finalists will be selected to perform at the event and will have the chance to record their track in a professional studio, with artist support and inclusion in a joint album. For the graffiti category, participants must submit a free-themed sketch, from which 15 finalists will create their works live during the event using provided materials. Finally, in hip hop, urban dance performers must submit a video featuring a choreography up to 3 minutes in length.

"In Alcorcón, we continue to champion young talent as an essential part of our government's actions, and the Vibra Awards are clear proof of this, representing a commitment to a more creative, vibrant, and future-oriented youth."

Candelaria Testa · Mayor of Alcorcón
The deadline for submitting applications is April 30. Registrations can be completed either in person or through the electronic headquarters of the Alcorcón City Council. The Councillor for Youth, Diversity, Technological Innovation, and Sport, Carmen Martín, emphasized that the goal is “to foster the participation of the young population in the cultural sphere, promoting urban art in the municipality of Alcorcón and showcasing the work of young creators.”
