San Fernando de Henares has celebrated the closing gala of the El Moscardón Amateur Theater Contest, a national reference event that received more than 60 proposals. During the ceremony, the best performances and directions from the six finalist plays were awarded.
The Councilor for Culture, Pablo Sanz, highlighted the Government team's commitment to amateur talent, stating that "it is a clear example of this Government team's commitment to amateur talent, which understands no labels and possesses extraordinary artistic quality, capable of moving, making people reflect, and filling auditoriums." He added that "Our obligation as an institution is to continue supporting, promoting, and giving visibility to these companies so that their creativity continues to grow."
The awards for this edition went to: Vera Corsario (Best Supporting Male Performance for ‘La vigilia del pincel’), María Ferreiro (Best Supporting Female Performance for ‘Chicas malas, el musical’), Paco Peraille (Best Lead Male Performance for ‘La vigilia del pincel’), Isabel Ortiz de Zárate (Best Lead Female Performance for ‘Cinco segundos y ciento veinte kilos’), Adrián Rodríguez Caro (Best Direction for ‘La vigilia del pincel’). The third prize went to Teatro Métrica Pura for ‘Cinco segundos y ciento veinte kilos’, the second to Teatro En Construcción for ‘La vigilia del pincel’, and the first prize was awarded to La Locandiera Teatro for ‘Vagos y Maleantes’.
Furthermore, the autumn season was presented, which will include a varied program for all audiences. Highlights include titles such as ‘On Time’ (October 17), ‘La niña de la jungla’ (October 18), ‘Mother Tongue’ (October 24), ‘Invisible’ (October 25), ‘Betseller. La obra que Lorca nunca escribió’ (November 7) featuring Nacho Guerrero, ‘Se Tortuga’ (November 8), Shai Maestro Quarter (November 14) as part of the Villanos del Jazz festival, ‘Transeúnte’ (November 21) by Red Danza a Escena, and ‘El Rey de la Farándula’ (November 28) with Ángel Ruíz and Bru Ferri.
The season will also feature dance performances by resident company OGMIA, such as ‘Invisible’ on October 25. Some performances will include accessibility measures.
