Rayo Vallecano will play its first match of the 2026-2027 LaLiga EA Sports season against Deportivo Alavés at the Estadio Ontime Butarque in Leganés on Thursday, August 20. The franjirrojo team is currently without a venue after the Community of Madrid suspended the concession for the Vallecas stadium in late July due to detected serious safety deficiencies.
CD Leganés has offered its stadium in coordination with the Community of Madrid to ensure the match can proceed, provided minimum guarantees are met to protect the interests of the 'pepineros' fans and the club itself. Rayo Vallecano will open its LaLiga EA Sports participation away against Sevilla FC on August 15.
This is not the first time Rayo Vallecano has used the Estadio Ontime Butarque; last season, they played their derby against Atlético de Madrid there due to the poor condition of their home pitch. CD Leganés has stated that a portion of the revenue generated will be allocated to an initiative for their fans.
